9. Topics mind map and the interactive HTML export

Topics Covered is included in every analysis. The mind map view lays the topics out radially around the video: each topic is a node sized by how much of the video it occupies, with its subtopics, the timestamps where it appears, and dotted links between topics that keep showing up together.

Reading the map

  • Click a topic to see its subtopics and timestamps; click a timestamp to play the moment (Chapter 6).
  • Drag a topic to move it; drag empty space to pan; scroll or use + / − to zoom; Tidy re-lays the map to fit.
  • Cloud switches to a word-cloud style view weighted by prominence.
  • Pop out opens the map large next to the player; Copy copies the outline as text.

What to do: check that the topic you meant to make the video about is the biggest node. If it is a satellite, the edit or the packaging is telling a different story than you intended. Use the correlations to spot two topics your audience may expect together — a natural next video.

Interactive HTML export

Download → Interactive HTML saves one self-contained .html file: the map with pan and zoom, a full outline of every topic and subtopic, and every timestamp as a link that opens the video at that moment. It has no external dependencies, works offline, prints cleanly, and carries the topic data inside it. Share it with a client or drop it in a project folder. SVG image is also available when you just want the picture.
