11. Outliers & Discovery: what’s winning right now
Discover (left sidebar) is a board of what is winning right now, powered by Contentine Brief. Two views:
- Breakout board — cross-niche videos that are far outperforming what their channels usually get. Pick a niche or browse them all; the board paginates.
- Channel outliers — for any channel you have analyzed (Chapter 10), the videos that beat that channel's own baseline, so “outlier” means outlier for them, not against the whole platform. The niche defaults to the channel's dominant category.

What to do with an outlier
An outlier is a hypothesis: something about the packaging, the hook or the topic clicked. Run it through a full analysis — the report tells you which. Compare its hook and pacing scores with your own videos on the same topic; the gap is the brief for your next one. Because the analysis watches the footage, you can find out why it worked, not just that it worked.
Honest notes
- Outlier detection uses public performance signals; it does not read private analytics.
- Rankings on the board are relative to each channel's baseline, so a small channel can appear above a huge one.
- Every analysis you run from the board is billed like any other analysis and saved to History.
Questions people ask
What counts as an outlier?
A video performing well beyond its channel’s usual baseline — the comparison is against the channel itself, not the whole platform.
Can I narrow to my niche?
Yes. Choose a niche on the board; for channel outliers the niche defaults to the channel’s dominant category.
Is Discovery included in plans?
Discovery is available in the app; heavy discovery draws on your daily YouTube lookups (plans don’t raise that limit — add your own YouTube key in My Keys mode for more).
