8. Collaboration sessions: review a report together

A collaboration session puts a report in a room. You start it from any completed report with Collab in the action bar, optionally set a passphrase, and copy the link. Anyone with the link (and passphrase) sees the same thing you do: the video, the full shared report, the feedback notes, a shared doc and a conversation — all live.

Starting a session

  1. Open a completed report and choose Collab.
  2. Optionally set a passphrase, then Start session.
  3. Use Copy link and send it. Change the passphrase later with Change passphrase.

Your sessions are listed under My Collabs so you can rejoin or end them. If you had already written solo feedback notes on the report, they are brought into the room the first time you open the panel.

What's in the room

  • Shared report — the whole report, read-only, with the same module navigation and clickable timestamps as your own view; the Topics mind map is in there too.
  • Review feedback together — the same feedback editor as Editorial feedback (Chapter 7), with every note syncing live to everyone (conflict-free — two people can type at once). Attached images are shared to the room.
  • Shared doc — a free-form document everyone edits together: decisions, to-dos, a running brief.
  • Conversation — a live chat with the people present.

Copy feedback.md exports the room's notes (with bundled images) exactly like the solo export. Save snapshots the room; Reset layout restores the panes; Leave exits without ending the session for others.

Privacy and what is stored

For an uploaded video, a copy of the video is shared into the room so the others can play it; that copy is temporary — it is deleted when the session ends and at most within 7 days. The shared report is a snapshot of the analysis at the time you started. Notes, the doc and chat live with the session. See Chapter 21 and the Privacy Policy.

Questions people ask

Do collaborators need an account?

Guests join with just the share link and its passphrase — no Contentine account is required.

Can two people edit the same note at once?

Yes. Notes and the shared doc sync with conflict-free merging; you see others’ edits as they type.

How long does a shared video copy stay available?

Until the session ends, and never longer than 7 days.

Can I export from a session?

Yes. Copy feedback.md gives the same editor-ready file as the solo export, including attached images.
